Abstract

Utilizing data transformation tools like OpenRefine, this presentation will explore the creation of ethical and appropriate control access terms for use in the updated Texas Archival Resources Online (TARO) collections website. Beginning first with an introduction of critical cataloging principles and OpenRefine, the presentation will then describe their intersection in workflows to create control access terms that are responsive to the communities they describe.
