This thesis is a documentation of the directorial process for the production of Home on the mornin' train that was directed by Christopher Olsen on the B. Iden Payne stage in the fall of 1998. The document is divided into two significant sections: part one provides an overview of the conceptual approach and identifies the challenges inherent in the script and part two confronts the challenges through design, directing, performance and outreach. Finally, the director concludes the document with ideas and concepts that the director learned from producing this work.en_US
