dc.description.abstractThis thesis suggests approaches to sequencing trichordal and tetrachordal set classes for harmonic dictation in the aural skills classroom. It uses similarity relations to calculate similarities and differences between set classes. It is a pedagogical study in ear training for twentieth-century music.
