dc.description.abstract | The University of Texas at Austin is a key participant in the Digital Preservation Network(DPN), an organization that intends to provide a common vehicle for long-term preservation of the most important scholarly products of member institutions. This presentation will provide a brief introduction to the goals of the Digital Preservation Network and its relationship to regional preservation efforts including TDL. We will discuss the developing technical architecture for data replication in DPN and the role of the Texas Advanced Computing Center and TDL in developing and deploying that architecture. We will briefly describe the design principles behind the architecture and the manner in which the replication technology is overlaid on existing ingest and storage mechanisms. | en_US |
