If the Texas 4-H program is to meet the demands set forth by its mission statement, to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing and contributing members of society, it is imperative that it produce well-educated individuals. This study will serve a need by gathering demographic information to create a basic profile of Texas 4-H Council members and to identify the educational strategies, career choices, and community involvement that contributed to the success of these 4-H members. The study will also provide feedback to the Texas Agricultural Extension Service(TAEX) on the success of its educational programs. Information will allow TAEX officials to provide better and more effective programs.
