dc.description.abstractWithin the period of 1939 - 1949, rapid changes have occurred in the South Plains of Texas which have affected the habits and needs of rural families living in this area. To find out how these changes have affected the rural families and how the needs of these families differ now from ten years ago have been the objectives of the author in this thesis.
