Abstract

Description

This poster provides practical recommendations for using Collections as Data in Texas Digital Library repositories. The recommendations are based on a Collections as Data project created using the Texas Conference on Digital Libraries Proceedings as a case study. The recommendations were written by three graduate students at UT Austin’s School of Information as part of a semester-long group project with TDL. The purpose of this presentation is to increase understanding and improve methods of using Collections as Data for TDL members. We approached our project by dividing it into a three-part process: metadata extraction, metadata cleaning, and metadata visualization.
