Eidetic is an adjective used to describe an extremely vivid visual image. When an eidetic image is viewed and re-seen in the mind, it replays clearly like a movie image to the viewer(Ahsen, 1). The eidetic image possesses the quality of remaining very constant so that there is long-term access to these vivid experiences. A person experiencing an eidetic image is therefore very vulnerable to long term emotional effects that the image may produce (Ahsen, 1). Can architecture instill an eidetic state in people through the creation of an environment that uses spatial arrangements and specific images? I believe it can and the source to this state lies in how individuals perceive and interrelate with their environment.
