Accent marks, chemical and mathematical characters may not display correctly in DSpace - especially when they are ingested as a batch upload. The problem can lie not just the originating point of the metadata, but also in various steps of the workflow. This poster goes over possible points where the metadata for special characters can become corrupted and cause display problems.
