Behavior of educable mentally retarded children can be modified by their environment. Behavior can be altered by rewarding desired behavior and not rewarding the unwanted behavior. Through the aspects of architecture, such as color, lighting, and use of space, the behavior of the facility clients can be modified into acceptable and skillful actions which benefit both their educational and recreational programs.
