Abstract
Description
The Black Lives Matter Video Project (BLMVP) is a digital collection created by a small team of LIS students from the University of Denver to document the Black Lives Matter protests that took place during the summer of 2020. As events continued to unfold, protesters uploaded what they saw onto social media platforms. The BLMVP collection consists of 27 born digital objects created and uploaded by protestors onto platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. The collection encompasses depictions of police and protestor interactions, BLM street art, peaceful protests, and demonstrations. This poster describes the students’ process while building the digital collection.
