The process of programming continues through the planning and design phase in formulating new ideas. The new ideas are many times the result of preconceived beliefs becoming outdated or irrelevant. The importance of a program of this type can only be measured when the design process begins. The advantages that the designer receives by having the design information provided in a program format are infinite. The information within this program is to be used only as a guideline for design. No specific design is being supported. The intent of this program is to provide facts, recommandatlons, suggestions and alternatives which should be considered for a better design.Item Adaptive use architecture(Texas Tech University, 1996-05) Gulseth, Dennis D.Using significant residuals of the existing built environment to develop new architecture which clearly reveals its morphosis. As in the case of the man and the woman, a work of architecture loses that magical element when its pieces are studied seperately. Each peice has certain characteristics and a certain character which contribute to the work, but the architecture can't be fully experienced until all of the pieces are working together as one creation. The relationship between man and woman itself becomes a work of architecture. The man and the woman are the building materials that make up the architecture, and the charcteristics that make up each person are the characteristics that make a building material unique.Item Design program for Harrington Square - phase III: an adaptive re-use of the old Albuquerque High School gymnasium building(Texas Tech University, 1982-12) Shepherd, Leslie L.The project involves the adaptive re-use of the Gymnasium Building, which is part of the Old Albuquerque High School, located on the eastern edge to the downtown core of Albuquerque, New Mexico at the intersection of Broadway and Central Avenue. The site of the proposed center is in the San Pedro Canyon Estates (SPCE)development on Lake Amistad near Del Rio, Texas (see Figure 1). The developers of the SPCE, Peekskill Investment Corporation, have developed part of the property with residences, and a Convention Center Hotel has been proposed for the site adjacent to the Centro San Pedro. Lake Amistad is a man made lake, and, as part of the Rio Grande, forms the border with Mexico. The site then, is an ideal location for the center with its situation at the border, and the additional tourist attractions of the lake and convention Center Hotel being present. In addition, the growth of Del Rio towards the Lake Amistad area makes the location increasingly viable for use by local people.Item Restaurant - club for San Angelo, Texas(Texas Tech University, 1974-05) Purser, Donald G.Not availableItem Item
