Item Design and analysis of an ASIC for energy harvesting applications(2012-12) Owodunni, Toluwalope; Bayne, Stephen B.; Li, ChangzhiThis thesis report summarizes the design and analysis of the power conditioning circuits of a piezoelectric energy harvesting system. Commercial piezoelectric generators with a frequency range of 26 – 205 Hz were used to convert kinetic energy to electric energy. A 6 stage AC/DC charge pump designed by a previous student was redesigned to multiply the output voltage of the piezoelectric generators. A Low Dropout Regulator (LDO) was designed to create a steady dc output voltage of 4.1 V. The ASIC for this system was designed using 0.6μm complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology.
