Item A restaurant and club for Lubbock, Texas(Texas Tech University, 1975-12) Fisher, Richard K.The purpose of an architectural program is to accumulate and evaluate certain isolated information about man and the environment as well as the function and purpose of the architectural element that is being researched. The process of programming continues through the planning and design phase in formulating new ideas. The new ideas are many times the result of preconceived beliefs becoming outdated or irrelevant. The importance of a program of this type can only be measured when the design process begins. The advantages that the designer receives by having the design information provided in a program format are infinite. The information within this program is to be used only as a guideline for design. No specific design is being supported. The intent of this program is to provide facts, recommandatlons, suggestions and alternatives which should be considered for a better design.Item Architectural manoeuvres in the dark(Texas Tech University, 1990-05) Taylor, J. KirkThe intent of this thesis is to examine how a design can be derived from creating space and form simultaneous with a purposeful light to reveal them. Although a great deal can be done to manipulate natural light to work towards the ends of the architect, artificial light affords the greatest control in exploring how the design of light can be used to reveal the physical character of a place to accomplish a design intention. Therefore, artificial illumination will be the exclusive means for revealing the physical design in the project. The project chosen for this study is a nightclub, for a quite obvious reason. A nightclub is experienced entirely at night, making artificial illumination the only means to reveal the physical design. Also, the environment appropriate for a nightclub, an escape from the everyday into another world, provides a rich opportunity for which the design and illumination of the space can work.Item Restaurant - club for San Angelo, Texas(Texas Tech University, 1974-05) Purser, Donald G.Not available
