Item Chalamydia trachomatis, a university profile(Texas Tech University, 1991-12) Martin, Diane DeeringA search of medical records for a twenty-four month period at the Student Health Services of a large southwestern university yielded a sample of 360 (98 males and 262 females) who tested positive for Chlamydia trachomatis or Neisseria gonorrhea. Using university-wide norms, the sample was examined for representativeness in several areas. Findings linked such demographic areas as ethnicity, age and classification, and college enrollment with positive tests. Additional findings related symptomatic/asymptomatic infection to subjects* gender, type of birth control methods to subjects' age, and possibly indicated a downward trend in prevalence of sexually transmitted disease over the time studied.
