Item A web interface design for a plasma etcher(Texas Tech University, 1999-05) Hossain, Tasnim MuradIt is mentioned that the objective of this project is to make a particular semiconductor processing equipment over the Internet but the approach for achieving the objective was made generic so that it can be applied to achieve remote access to any other piece of expensive equipment.Item An Ecological Research/Learning Center: For the Rosillos Mountains Reserve, Big Bend National Park, Brewster County, Texas(Texas Tech University, 1987-11) Cruse, Tracy DeanNot Available.Item Implementation support: improving transportability of evidence-based treatments from laboratories to schools(2016-05) Heier, Julie E.; Carlson, Cindy, 1949-; Bearman, Sarah KateDespite the proven benefits of evidence- based practices (EBTs) demonstrated in outcome research trials, their effectiveness decreases when transported to usual care (UC) settings. Researchers posit that implementation support strategies may provide a mechanism to improve EBT treatment delivery and improve their fit within complex settings such as schools. Knowledge of specific implementation modalities leading to successful EBT delivery in UC remains in early stages of research. The majority of youth with mental health disorders receive services in schools, yet these settings often have fewer specialty clinicians who can provide effective mental health care. Therefore, understanding implementation support in educational contexts is crucial to meet the emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of youth. This study examines differential implementation support for a group-based CBT intervention focused on adolescents at-risk for depression. School-based clinicians will be assigned to 1 of 2 conditions: didactic training and manual only, or didactic training, manual, weekly consultation, and weekly fidelity monitoring feedback. The primary outcomes include treatment fidelity, depressive symptoms, and academic performance. It is hypothesized that additional implementation support will increase fidelity and subsequently client outcomes. Finally, it is expected that fidelity will correlate with client outcomes. These results suggest that implementation support strategies may be both beneficial throughout treatment, and they may also help improve effectiveness of EBTs when they are transferred from research settings to UC. More empirical research is needed to understand implementation support process in relation to client outcomes to reduce the EBT research practice gap.Item Laboratory safety inservice needs of Texas agricultural science teachers(Texas Tech University, 1996-12) McDonald, Brent WayneAccording to a study by Lawyer (1992), on the safety compliance levels of agricultural science teachers in Texas, the instructors are using safe practices and providing safety equipment, but "not to the extent warranted by the hazards present in the agricultural mechanics laboratory" (p. 157). This study called for inservice programs to implement comprehensive safety programs. Therefore, the problem this study attempted to answer was: What are the safety inservice education needs of Texas agricultural science teachers in Areas I, II, and IV?Item Marine research laboratory(Texas Tech University, 1991-12) Basiran, MazlanThe ocean's of the world are one of the main sources of our daily protein. Fishes and algae from the oceans provide us with protein and iodine that our bodies need for a balanced diet. People around the world benefit from the world oceans either as a mean of transportation or as a source of daily nutrition. Most of the world populations are concentrated along the global shores. Besides that, the discovery of oil and gas fields on the ocean floor stunulated the development of new technologies. As we can see, our oceans give us a lot of treasures and resources which are helpful to us. Since the beginning of history, mankind has taken advantage from the richness of the oceans. However, not much has been done to preserve our wealthy oceans. Thus, I propose the construction of a marine research laboratory at New Smyma Beach, Florida. The main goals of this laboratory are to study the physical characteristics and the marine life of the Atlantic Ocean. The studies should help the scientists in learning more about the ocean and its effects on our lives. This center would not only do research but would also act to conserve the ocean. We have to pay attention to preserving our oceans, which are one of the limited natural resources of the planet Earth. When the oceans are gone, there is not much we can do to get them back. Conservation of our oceans today might be helpful to our future generations. Conservation of our oceans is important not only to preserve the natural habitat but also to preserve our global climate. Through this conservation effort, scientists and the public will gain a better understanding of the ecosystems in existence today.Item Standard operating procedures for analytical methods in an environmental science laboratory(Texas Tech University, 1995-05) Harkins, Victoria RichardsThe purpose of this thesis is to create a manual that is as specific as possible to the ESL concerning instrumentation, detailed calibration, and procedures. The specific objectives for creating this manual are to standardize and economize the level of instruction so that students or people with minimal training can successfully complete all analyses and to provide for them a quick reference concerning sample handling, procedures of analysis, and summary type information concerning analyses performed in the laboratory. Provided in the Appendix is a manual that contains all the methods performed in the Environmental Science Laboratory.Item The Texas State Aquarium and research facility(Texas Tech University, 1990-08) Burgess, Christopher A.In all things, natural or man-made, the whole of the environment is interwoven with rhythms, movements, and proportions, and through the interplay of these forces, forms are articulated.
