Item Teaching BACCII to high school students: an aid for learning an iconic language as a first course in procedural programming(Texas Tech University, 2002-08) Rindahl, Paul ScottComputers are used by millions of people every day. Many use commercial off the shelf software to perform daily duties. Many have no idea about how much work is involved to produce such software. It is becoming increasingly important for people to know how to program. Most well-established computer programming languages use a text-based approach to writing code. Some researchers have the idea that perhaps a visual representation could be more beneficial. This paper addresses the possibility of using an iconic language called BACCIF" (Ben A. Calloni Coding for Iconic Interface) (Calloni, 1992) to teach programming to high school students.
