Results were mixed. In an attempt to understand these results, a model was created using the Two Visual Systems Hypothesis. The area of the model concerning the effect of perceptual-motor recalibration training on subsequent ventrally-guided distance estimation tasks was unclear. The current studies examined the effects of perceptual-motor recalibration training on verbal distance estimates. Experiment 1 examined the effects of a perceptual-motor recalibration training protocol on a subsequent perceptual-motor task. Results indicated that training affected the later perceptual-motor task. Experiment 2 investigated the effects of the same perceptual-motor recalibration training on verbal distance estimates. Results suggested that perceptual-motor recalibration training does not transfer to verbal distance estimates.
