Abstract
Several variations of Hill-based models of musculotendon dynamics are presented. Linear and nonlinear models that vary in degrees of complexity and fidelity are analyzed. In particular nonlinear elastic effects, muscle mass, external loading, and joint effects are investigated. A major focus of this work is to examine the relationship of these modeling issues to stability, controllability and observability.
