Abstract

The Crouch Fine Arts Library at Baylor University is the custodian of Baylor’s School of Music recordings. This collection of performances spans decades and contains thousands of recordings across various media including reel-to-reel, digital audio tape, cassette tape, and audio compact disc. The Riley Digitization Center started a project in 2017 to migrate the analog and digital media to digital preservation files, simplify the process of accessing the audio, and minimize the work on staff to provide access to requested materials. This 24x7 project update will provide a project definition, present workflows, challenges, and a description of the automation developed to increase project efficiency and minimize human error.
