Design workshops
Abstract
In the course of this report I discuss the creation and meaning of three design workshops. The first workshop, "A Design Process For Everyone," introduces the essentials of a conventional six-step design process of problem definition, framework establishment, component manipulation, concept creation, concept verification and product consummation. The second workshop, "Professional Design Methods," was created to demonstrate to advanced design students three different design process methods that are used in contemporary product development circles. The third workshop, "The Rhetoric of Chairs," created for young design students, introduces the idea that all designs have the capacity to persuade.
