Abstract
On the other hand, the in-line configuration is a much faster responding process than a CSTR, and as a result, the in-line process is inherently more difficult to control. Therefore, in order to be able to take advantage of the economic benefits of the in-line configuration, reliable control approaches for the in-line configuration must be developed. This work presents the details of application of the advanced PI controller to a real-time laboratory-scale in-line pH control process using a dual injection configuration. It is an extension of the work done by Scott Hurowitz, who applied this approach on the dynamic simulator.
