Abstract
The objectives of this investigation were to (a) develop a technique for the evaluation of sweetness of forage plants; (b) compare the sweetness of parent lines and F-^ progenies of selected sudangrass and forage sorghum crosses; (c) determine the yield potential of the Fi crosses; (d) determine the relationship between the sweetness of the P., F, and F2 generations of a forage sorghum x grain sorghum cross; and (e) compare the sweetness of open pollinated forage plants producing seed with genetically identical male sterile plants producing no seed.
