Abstract

Student success is the goal of every higher learning institutions in America. How these institutions choose to measure success looks different from university to university. The current study investigates how to increase student success in high-achieving, low-income, minority students through various types and levels of support. Student success is measured as grade point average (GPA), student involvement, and leadership. Overall, the current research found perceived support from all sources and that freshman year acclimation increases student success during the junior and senior year of college.
