Abstract

The aim of the current study was to examine if a new type of infant massage therapy improved sleep behavior in infants. Also, the researcher predicted that the infant massage would benefit the sleep behavior of infants with mothers who are low in maternal sensitivity more than the infants with mothers who are highly sensitive towards their infants. 15 mother-infant dyads participated in the study and the mothers performed the Lullaby Massage intervention for 3 weeks. Results showed us that there was improvement only in one of the behaviors after the intervention and there was no significant difference between the sleep behaviors of the infants with mothers who were lower in sensitivity and the infants with mothers who were highly sensitive to their infants.
