    Abstract
    In view of the previous statement, the hypothesis of this paper is as follows: Organized labor, in the United States and in Latin America, is an essential force in achieving the goals of the Alliance for Progress. With regard to purpose, the plan of this thesis is to examine the role that labor is playing and will play in the Alliance and to judge its impact as to the validity of the above hypothesis.
