Abstract
With regard to the hypotheses of this study, there are four areas of major interest: situations in which narrow row spacings are advantageous, situations in which wide row spacings have advantages, the effect of the size and shape of the area between adjacent plants (often called the stand geometry) on grain yield, and how row spacings and plant densities influence tillering and the importance of tillers to grain yield.
