Focusing on open data sources, the presenters will walk through the process of locating, loading, and preparing data for analysis. Participants will also gain hands-on practice in analyzing a statewide database. No prior experience with GIS is required. We recommend that participants download the current version of QGIS before the webinar to participate in the hands-on activity during the session.Item 3D Modeling of Library Spaces Using QGIS(Texas Digital Library, 2023-07-26) Shensky, Michael; Strickland, KatherineIn spring 2023 the UT Libraries worked with students in the UT Austin Master of Science in Information Technology and Management program on a project to create a 3D interactive model of the Perry-Castaneda Library (PCL) Map Room that could be deployed as a web app. This project resulted in the successful development of a new web app that was created using open source software and which will allow patrons to locate maps when visiting the PCL Map Room in-person and explore the collection virtually.
