dc.description | These Guidelines, produced by the Texas Digital Library ETD Metadata Working Group, are intended to support the consistent production and publication of metadata for electronic theses and dissertations and will inform the development of the Vireo thesis submission system by the Texas Digital Library. The Guidelines comprise two documents, a Dictionary and a Report, designed to be used in tandem. Institutions can use the Dictionary, which lays out the standard itself, as a reference, to guide and shape local metadata practices for describing ETDs; Appendices to the Dictionary comment more extensively on components of the recommendations guiding the standard. The Report lays out the Working Group's detailed explanations for rationale, process, findings, and recommendations, and lists contributors to the effort. | en_US |
