Abstract

The MSU Libraries’ OER Program was created to advance affordability, access, accessibility, equity, and faculty innovation into educational materials to support overall student success. Since its launch in the Fall 2019 semester, the OER Program at MSU has grown considerably with faculty creating OER and students supporting our advocacy and awareness efforts. One of the pillars of MSU’s OER Program is the OER Publishing Program which we established to support our faculty OER creators. This presentation will highlight the success of the OER Program at MSU and our experience with OER publishing. Attendees will learn the various services we offer such as one-on-one consultations, print-on-demand services, Pressbooks publishing, copy editing, and accessibility audits. In addition, we will discuss workflows, style guides, and the processes we employ to ensure that our team works collaboratively and inclusively. More importantly, we will showcase the people behind this program and the unique contributions they make to creating the best possible OER for our students and the broader open education community.
