Toolkit-a-Gogo: Bridge2Hyku’s Exporter and Importer are Ready to Go
MetadataShow full item record
The University of Houston (UH) Libraries, in partnership and consultation with numerous institutions, was awarded an IMLS National Leadership/Project Grant (LG-70-17-0217-17) to support the creation of the Bridge2Hyku (B2H) Toolkit. The B2H project aims to establish a framework for sustainable digital collections data migration to Hyku. As part of this toolkit, the project team has developed two applications to assist in the migration of data from CONTENTdm to Hyrax-based platforms: 1. CDM Bridge: a standalone desktop application that easily pulls metadata and files out of any CONTENTdm instance for migration and metadata remediation. 2. HyBridge: an importer gem integrated into the Hyku Dashboard that pairs with CDM Bridge for a basic migration workflow from a local or hosted CONTENTdm to a hosted Hyku repository. These two applications, along with the documentation and best practices available on the website (bridge2hyku.github.io), give digital library practitioners the tools and groundwork necessary to begin their own migration journeys. This Poster will introduce viewers to the B2H toolkit and provide a brief overview of the tools and other components included in it.
